Details: The Side Access Nursing Top is a fitted top intended for knit fabrics. It has openings on each side and a cropped underlayer for easy breastfeeding access when you don’t want to expose a ton of skin (hello cold winter nights)! It can be sewn on a sewing machine or a serger. It comes in Top, Tunic, and Mini Dress lengths with banded or hemmed options. It also has a cut line for a simple top/dress without side access for nursing.
Includes lots of pictures with step by step instructions for sizes XXS to 4X.

FABRIC: Requires approximately 1.5 – 2.5 yards of a stretch knit with 50% vertical & horizontal stretch (Cotton Lycra, Rayon Spandex, Brushed Polyester, and some sweater knits will work great).
FILES: You will be able to download the printable sewing pattern and instructions you can then print at home on US letter 8.5×11” or A4 paper (you will not receive a physical copy of the pattern). This also includes a Projector file and an A0 Printshop file. You will need a PDF viewer (the free version of Adobe is recommended).

This pattern is the first adult shirt pattern I loved. It’s fairly easy to sew. Step by step and aligning stars to connect the pieces. My favorite side access is 100% merino 230g knit but I have also made a DBP and a rayon blend top. The pattern comes in several length options. Now to try all zen llamas other patterns.

I don’t sew much for myself because I find it incredibly intimidating, however this is such an easy pattern and bonus, it’s super easy to breastfeed in!
I have a whole selection of short sleeved t-shirt versions and am working on a selection of jumpers too for the colder weather. I’ve already made one and it’s such a relief after 17m feeding my eldest to be able to feed in colder weather without stripping down and getting cold bits!
