DESCRIPTION
The Bella leggings & shorties is a semi-fitted pattern intended for knit fabrics. The regular fit is great for disposable diapers or underwear. The cloth diaper fit comes with extra ease in the hips and rise to accommodate a cloth diaper. This pattern comes in a banded or hemmed full length legging or a banded short-shorts length. Optional ruffles add a touch of whimsy, or you can just use contrasting fabric for a cool color block design. This bottom can be sewn on a sewing machine or a serger, but does require a sewing machine or coverstitch machine if you wish to gather and topstitch.
SIZING
The pattern comes in sizes Newborn through 5 years (approximate ages). For the best fit, take current measurements and compare against the size chart and finished measurements. If in between sizes, you can size down for a better fit now or size up for room to grow.
You will need approximately 1/4 to 1 yd of a 50% 4-way stretch knit.
**This pattern is best suited for Cotton Lycra, Brushed Polyester Spandex, Rayon Spandex, and Bamboo Spandex.**
You will be able to download the printable sewing pattern and instructions you can then print at home on US letter 8.5×11” or A4 paper (you will not receive a physical copy of the pattern). This also includes a Projector file and an A0 Printshop file. You will need a PDF viewer (the free version of Adobe is recommended).

Absolutely fantastic scrap buster and really easy to grade sizes – I have a son in 9m width and 3m height and a daughter in 18m width and 2T height, so it’s always a pain to buy ready to wear for them. This is by far my favourite leggings pattern, especially for the ease of getting the right fit and I love that it’s easy to make from scraps which makes it easier to get coordinating outfits with very little fabric.
